Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

The idea for this work came while walking my dog, a dragonfly landed on my shirt, I kept walking trying to not disturb it, then it flew to a cheek on my face, I shook my head and it fell back on my shirt. But what fell on my shirt it was a spider. I think the spider was in my hair and when I shook my head it fell on my shirt and the dragonfly flew away.
Since I was retiring from teaching and my world was changing so fast, I wanted to know about the symbolism and meaning of the spider as totem.
A spider on the hair, could be a sign that the person is creating a new reality perhaps in a reactive or proactive way. I also read “a spider in your hair is all about wisdom. Hair is tied to intuition and wisdom, and spiders are all about power, creativity, and self-expression.”
It was also so interesting to read about the symbolism of the spider in the native American cultures, especially in the Hopi people with the spider grandmother and the sacred art of weaving.

Miguel Tio, was born in the Dominican Republic, began his studies of painting with the Dominican artist Elias Delgado As well as the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. His interest in Publicity and Graphic Design led him into continuing studies at the “Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. A move to New York in 1994 led him to Izquierdo Studio Ltd. for film and Television Production, windows display, opera and theater, which had a great influence on his artwork.
