Homage to an Unknown Artist metal print by Miguel Tio. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Artist's Description
A close friend gave me a canvas that used to belong to an artist who died of Aids. The artist had started a painting that unfortunately he never could finish. I was going to toss the canvas away and re use the stretcher with a new canvas but after a few months of looking at the unfinished work the idea of doing homage to this unknown artist suddenly came to my mind.
Since he was totally unknown to me I portrayed him as I saw him in my imagination.
About Miguel Tio
Miguel Tio, was born in the Dominican Republic, began his studies of painting with the Dominican artist Elias Delgado As well as the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. His interest in Publicity and Graphic Design led him into continuing studies at the “Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. A move to New York in 1994 led him to Izquierdo Studio Ltd. for film and Television Production, windows display, opera and theater, which had a great influence on his artwork. Since 2005 he is working as an art teacher for Studio in a School and in 2006 he started to study the Mische technique with the world-wide known artist Brigid Marlin.
